Girls Varsity Volleyball · MHS Names New Volleyball Coach

Athletic Director Larry Headrick recently announced the addition of Christine Hames to the coaching staff at Maryville High School.  Hames will use her skills and experience as a player and coach to lead the MHS Lady Rebel volleyball program.  Headrick said, “We are honored to have a coach of this caliber working on our team and look forward to the many ways Chris can turn student-athletes into winners and potential collegiate competitors.”

Christine (Chris) Hames has a storied volleyball career, serving as a starter at Oregon State in the early 90’s, playing professionally in Australia, and then playing in Barcelona during the ’92 Olympics.  Her coaching experience includes Maryville College, Webb School of Knoxville, and summer camps at university programs in Tennessee, Nebraska, and California.

The Hames family owns K2 Volleyball locally, where they have helped over 120 players move to college-level play.  Chris and her husband Jason have one son at Maryville High School, along with two college-age daughters who both play volleyball – one at the University of Nebraska and the other at Pepperdine.

A big Maryville “WELCOME” to Coach Hames and best wishes for a terrific season.  Players or parents interested in connecting with Mrs. Hames may send her an email at .
